Jamie Perkins is a journalist pursuing a Master of Science in Journalism at Boston University.

While at Boston University, Jamie interned as a statehouse reporter for The New Bedford Light. Six of their articles for The Light were published by the Associated Press and republished by outlets including The Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report and The Canadian Press.

Jamie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Simmons University and previously worked as a general assignment reporter for The Bourne Enterprise on Cape Cod. In that role, Jamie covered breaking news, local government, education, conservation and human-interest stories.

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to truth, Jamie seeks to hold those in power accountable while amplifying underrepresented voices. In addition to reporting and writing, they have extensive photography experience and a working knowledge of audio and video production.
